Hi, am not sure if technosat t-786 has smart functions like playing Video/Music/Pictures from USB or has youtube function. I have a humax ir-2020hd, and the ethernet port is used to connect to the internet access online content for it’s smart functions (believe it or no, the receiver has now twitter!) and youtube videos, i remember it also once updated the firmware through the internet connection. I’ve tried plugging my brother’s t-786 to the internet and couldn’t update it online, don’t expect much support for products like this, it is marketing strategy to ditch old hardware so you have to upgrade to newer ones.
