Docuprint 203a Will Not Work With Vista
When printing off certain sites on web, such as Microsoft Support Knowledge-base, I often get a partial print only (prints a page or part of page and skips rest, or sometimes just prints headers or footers). The print preview also shows only partial print-out if the print is going to be partial. I have tried working around this by selecting all text and ordering print of selection rather than by pages, and even then often all of selection does not print. Only clear work-arounds are to copy all of text wanted and paste into word processor (WORD 2007), or 'save page as' Web Page-HTML only (saving as text loses formatting and saving as Web Pafe- HTML Complete still comes up without text) - a bit of a pain PROBLEM ONLY OCCURS IN FIREFOX - NO PROBLEM IN IE-7. Regular printing off domestic applications has no problems. Have seen Firefox forum/knowledge-base about some kinds of printing problems that will be fixed in release 3 (currently in Beta - on release 2.0.0.14), but not confident that is what I am dealing with. All I have are a few things to play around with, and a potential work around until the Mozilla team gets this problem fixed.
Settings to play with: When you print a page, go to File-Print When the dialog appears, look through the tabs until you see the option to print as laid out on screen If that doesn't help, try changing the shrink to fit option so it doesn't scale the page How I worked around the issue on my Vista-64 Ultimate machine: Download and install the IETab addon for Firefox If you run into a page that has this problem, right-click on the pages tab and open page in external app (which should open it in IE). Attempt the print again using IE. I know it is not much help, but that workaround seemed to be the only easy way I could get it to work on some pages.
Not to mention, if a website is being a pain in Firfox, it is nice to be able to run it in IE or an IE tab to make it work for that short period of time. Hope it helps, and good luck! Bkdragon23, Your work-arounds have worked well enough for me to put the issue aside until the next fix in Firefox. It is such a great comfort when one realises that they are not the only one in the world with the particular computer problem - MANY THANKS I went to certain MS support documents that I know give rise to this printing problem.
I accessed the needed dialog box through file-page setup (rather than file-Print) and unchecked the 'skrink to fit' box. That got me a bit of the end of the document in print preview - then I also moved the 100% sizing down to 70%.

That got me all the document, albeit with a half page blank at the beginning. At 50% it all appeared but was too small to read.

Then I took your second option and down-loaded the Firefox extension. Works a treat. Right click on the tab and pick 'open in external application, and it trots over to IE-7, where it will print out fine. Thanks again - on to the next crisis:-).
