Now that he’s been selected he plans on attending South Carolina University and completing his degree in physics. “It's overwhelming right now thinking about going back to school full time after seven years, but I'm ecstatic, relieved and honored to be afforded the opportunity by Secretary Wilson,” Segarra said. “An eighth grade teacher told me once I was the epitome of an all-or-nothing type person and this has proven to hold true. Since joining I've given everything to the Air Force and haven't been able to focus on my schooling as a result. This program will really allow me to shift my full focus toward schooling, and then back to the Air Force afterwards.

It's really a dream scenario come true. I really can't wait to move into the next chapter of my Air Force journey and I definitely won't let her or the Air Force down!”.
