We just didn't imagine how immaculate this resort would be until we checked in. The property (with many buildings) was very clean, the customer service was excellent, and they amenities were plentiful. The condo was well stocked and much larger then I imagined.
I'd highly recommend vacationing here again if an Orlando trip is planned. It had shuttle service to WDW Epcot and Universal, but didn't have a need to use it. Most of the attractions are within reasonable driving distances.
Now, the pirate ship pool. When the children saw it and started playing in this massive pool it was 'Mickey Mouse Who?' Needless to say we will be here again!! I'd suggest that if you go bring groceries. We travelled as two couples and my 25 year old twin boys and we were booked into a three bedroom apartment in block 1 - 4th floor -we didn't see any fireworks from our apartment.
The booking at the hotel was done easily with no fuss or bother and we were soon checking out the facilities in the apartment. It was fully contained with kitchen, dishwasher, and washing machine, and tumble drier, large fridge with a large freezer box, etc. All the bedrooms had a large TV with a 42 inch in the living room. Everywhere was clean, tidy and comfortable. There was a swimming pool, not the main one with the ship, but still within very easy walking distance from the room. Parking our 7 seater was never a problem. There is a good Wal-Mart supermarket in easy reach of the hotel by car which met all our requirements.

There is also a shopping area for goods (Mall) within easy/safe walking distance from the hotel. The hotel is ideally suited close to many of the Disney parks - which are within easy reach. We drank lots of bottled water, which we bought from Wal-Mart. We bought one of those cheap $3 polystyrene cool boxes and put bottled cold water them - ready for when we were leaving the parks. For a few days between 2-3pm the heavens opened up and it rained really heavy for about 30 minutes - it stopped and you carried on. The boys used the fitness room - said it was small but okay - if that helps!!! Now for the 'Nit Picking'.

The hotel isn't very old but the furniture and accessories are already looking a bit aged and a cockroach was seen and killed in the main bedroom of the second week. The air conditioning in both bathrooms are very noisey. The hotel is situated away from the main route of 'International Drive' but close to Disney. Therefore the majority of times we all ate breakfast in the apartment, which wasn't a problem and probably saved us a few bob. There wasn't a grill in the oven or a frying pan therefore we had to improvise!! We ate many times in the evening in Frankie Farrells Irish Bar who produced some excellent meals at very reasonable prices, who daily gave us a discount without asking.
I had read many previous reports that state it is very expensive to eat there. We found it very convenient after a long day in the parks, to come back to the hotel, shower, and change and go down for an excellent meal and a drink and discuss the day's experiences - without having to get back in the car and drive distances looking for food. We all enjoyed our stay at the hotel - Lake Buena Vista Village Resort & Spa - everything was cool and comfortable, close to Disney and we ate well. I must point out that this was just basicially a base for us as we would be out each day from about 8:30 am until 8:30 pm.
The large relaxing living room in the appartment was ideal for the 6 of us to get together - instead of everyone disapearing into rooms. Washing clothes was done overnight and tumble dried in the morning - ready for when required. It was a pleasant suprise not taking a suitcase of dirty clothes home. The hotel was very good and I would certainly use it again and reccommend it to my friends. I stayed here from June 23-27 with my parents and two teenage girls.
This was a great location, convenient to the parks. Obviously there are a lot of families staying here. We had a three bedroom condo with a fireworks view.
The place was clean and well kept. Some of the staff were great, others, not as much. The beds were very comfortable. They have a shuttle to the parks that we took one day only.
There are two departure times and two return times each day. I was so worried about missing the return, after using the shuttle the first day we drove instead. Plus at least one family had to stand up on the bus each time. The pirate ship pool is full of kids and it's nice that they have a quieter pool by the buildings one and two. We ate pizza from the Pizza Hut Express one day and that was decent. They have a limited menu and no specials. Most importantly, I would stay here again.
Our family just returned from a week long 'Disney' vacation, which turned out to be so much more! From the moment we arrived on the property of Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa until our day of departure, we enjoyed every aspect of the Resort. My whole family couldn't get enough of the pirate ship pool water slide & we visited the pool area at least twice a day. We enjoyed the game room a lot as well at the end of each long day. It is located near Frankie Farrell's Irish Pub (which we love!), as well as Pizza Hut, so after dinner, we would enjoy some games together! Our room had the fireworks view balcony and I made sure to race out there each evening to enjoy the fireworks! The units have a full kitchen so we ran to Walmart to stock up on foods & snacks, and keep an eye out for the $3 bottles of wine!!
The front desk staff, specifically Trish White, along with Anthony, I wanted to pack in my suitcase and bring home with me (ha ha)- they were that helpful & sweet! I have been recommending this resort to everyone who will listen to me and cannot wait for our return trip! Truly enjoyed every aspect & it is a very quick drive to all Disney parks, which we visited every day!
BEST PLACE EVER! We just got back yesterday from our trip to Orlando. This is our second stay at Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa. It's like a home away from home (but nicer). This time we booked a two-bedroom unit which faced the pool with the pirate ship. We had a wonderful time with our two boys (ages 9 and 2).
They had their room and we had ours. My only 'glitch' I don't want to use th word complaint, is that the bed was not quite comfortable nor were the pillows (but that was just my opinion, I suffer from neck/shoulder pain). The check in / check out process was easy -breezy, the grounds are well kept. The pool is great for both adults and kids. Location is convenient - close to everything. The outlet mall across the parking lot is less to be desired, but overall the price was great and we will be visiting again in the future.
